Some more outstanding work carried out by the guys at the Shed

The photos are some of the restoration work carried out by Reg, Barry & Garry on a Birthday present for a 90 year old gentleman for his grandsons to present him with. The second was a Mahjong box that Barry restored for a local lady which was a much valued item. Thirdly Garry has built a frame for one of the auction items for our High Tea that is being run by the Rocky Sports Club.

Below is a model of our sheds

More snippets next week when we will bring you more stories on what we do at the shed.

“Joyous Blooms”

Art:       Many Spring blossoms

Size:     90 x 60 cm

This print will go on auction at The High Tea at The Rocky Sports Club on Saturday 20th March 2012

“With the promise of spring, flower buds burst into life.  The promise of fruit as the reward for the bloom is secondary to the beauty of the flowers that are first.”

This piece has brought many happy memories in our home and those of our extended families.  The original art currently resides at my Mother’s house in CQ after belonging in the SEQ for some years.

The artwork is a limited edition, 3 of 250, fine art print and has been produced from my original artwork.  It has been professionally printed on 340 gsm, museum grade Illford Galerie canvas to stand the test of time.

Thank you for enjoying my art…

I’m Michelle and am a local Rockhampton artist.

I’ve been a closet creative who brought out my inner artist only when needed to whip up a special gift for family and friends.

You’ll find my developing online art gallery presence and biography on Bluethumb at this link: https://bluethumb.com.au/rascalryans/bio

The intention of my art is always to inspire much love, beauty and a sense of freedom.  I’m honoured to be associated with the wonderful men at the Men’s Shed.

Warmest regards,

Michelle Ryan (aka Shells)

Adding to the great prizes on show at the High Tea is Gloria’s contribution of a spectacular quilt that will no doubt bring a lot of interest to the prizes on the day.

Another Community project completed

This time it is in memory of Mick Crust (1923-2020) a well known name in the district.

We were commissioned to make this seat by John Coles who is related to Mick.

Rest in Peace Mick

John Coles is seated next to Gary in the first picture who did most of the work with Barry who is seated below in the photos with Gary.

This hardwood seat will be on display at the retirement village in Mt. Morgan for all to enjoy a restful seat hopefully after a vigorous walk to invigorate everyone.

Up goes the Toilet Block now for the Sewer connection

We are ready to install the sewer connection ( we need to trench 85 meters to connect to the existing sewer connection and the cost of this is in the vicinity of $50K to $55K and we are seriously fundraising to reach this amount so we can build this complex to help the community of Rockhampton to help you)
