The walls go up in building 2 the guys perform like monkeys

The members of the Rocky Men’s Shed under supervision started erecting the walls of the rooms in building 2 to allow for the partitioning of the Arts & Crafts, Storeroom, First Aid, Shower & Toilet. Gym. And further storerooms. This will be a major step forward for us in our quest to build these buildings for the community of Rockhampton.

As Time Goes By

3A-Marist-Bros-1951

James Lawler is feeling thankful  · How time slips away I received this photo from my good friend Col Loughnan ( past member of The Crescents, Deltones, Ayers Rock, and multiple jazz bands as a renowned saxophonist) how young we were then 1951 and the different paths we all took Col to Music and me to the union movement for a decade and as a respected specialist linotype mechanic. I was asked by the Sun Herald in 1974 to become a computer tech and I said ” not for me” what a mistake that was as I left the Herald and went into the Transport business eventually going from driver to State Operations Manager and then going to my own business installing EFTPOS, Golden Casket, and Keno machines before retiring back to Rocky with Marion and eventually starting the Rocky Men’s Rockhampton Mens Shed Inc.

If any other members of the shed have any other reminiscing I would be happy to share it on the webpage
